An opportunity has arisen for a talented team player to join our Large Engine Remanufacturing Team as a trade qualified Diesel Mechanic. This is a fantastic opportunity to join the Penske team and work in our modern workshop in Hazelmere. If you have a passion for bringing engines back to life, we want to hear from you!
In this role you will:
- Complete engine repairs and overhauls using diagnostic and dynamometer (dyno) testing methods
- Undertake and perform all appropriate pre-delivery tests and inspections to ensure client satisfaction
- Assist in completing appropriate job reports to ensure accurate record of tasks completed
- Carry out hands on service work in both the workshop and field service environments
- Complete work instructions as directed and instructed
- Actively contribute towards an ongoing improvement culture in the Safety, Quality and Productivity of the Remanufacturing West Team
- Uphold the values of Penske Power Systems at all times with a commitment to safe working practices
About you:
- Appropriate trade qualifications (diesel mechanic, diesel fitters or other heavy industry trade)
- Experience on MTU and Detroit Diesel engines is an strong advantage
- Strong mechanical aptitude, with a particular focus on engine reconditioning
- Pride in completing jobs to a high standard
- Capable of working without supervision
- Self-motivated and able to become an active part of a great team of people
- Good communication skills for regular interaction with customers, colleagues and supervisors
